About this Recipe

The Tritip sandwich is a very easy item to make. The 1.5 hours is just waiting for the meat to get up to temperature.

We tried this with and without the horseradish sauce (recipe included) and found it to be much better with the sauce.

This sandwich is better than it looks, I blame it on my lack of photographic skills!

Ingredients

  • 1 2-3lb Tri-tip roast (from Don’s Meat Shop)
  • 6 Sandwich rolls
  • 6 slices Provolone cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 3-6 tablespoons Horseradish sauce (Recipe included)
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Horseradish sauce:

  • 2 Tablespoons horseradish
  • 2 Tablespoons mayonnaise

Step 2

Generously season the outside of your Tri-tip roast with salt and pepper and place on grill and close lid for 45-minutes, turn and check the temperature.

Step 3

Make horseradish sauce and refrigerate

Step 4

Cut rolls in half, butter the inside of both halves and toast

Step 5

Thinly slice Tri-tip, spread horseradish sauce on toasted sandwich rolls and assemble sandwich by adding the desired amount of meat and a slice of cheese.
